Nine teams. Eighteen games. Three days of international basketball. Teams from Latvia, Ukraine, Estonia, Georgia and the United Kingdom, represented by clubs from England and Scotland, met in Valmiera for EGBL U19 Stage 1 on 9–11 October 2026. RBS Centrs came through four demanding games without a defeat, while Daugavpils, Frankivsk and Audentes each left with three wins and plenty to build on.
Valmiera 3rd Secondary School hosted the opening stage of the 2026/27 campaign. Every team played four games, giving the weekend a busy rhythm: an early setback could be followed quickly by another chance, and the leading places were settled by results between closely matched sides.

The Riga team then beat MOBI 45–35 before closing the weekend with a 53–43 victory over Daugavpils. Watch on EYBL.TV Centrs scored 203 points and conceded 171 across the stage. Their four winning margins—five, seven, ten and ten—show a run built on repeatedly finding enough to get over the line.
Daugavpils supplied the other five-point thriller, defeating Frankivsk 55–50 on Saturday. Watch on EYBL.TV That result became a key part of their second-place finish. Frankivsk had already survived a close test against Sheffield, winning 47–41 on Friday evening. Watch on EYBL.TV With Daugavpils, Frankivsk and Audentes all finishing 3–1, a single result made a real difference to the stage table.
Boroughmuir Blaze also pushed one of the leading sides hard. Audentes held on for a 57–51 win in their Saturday meeting, the Scottish team’s closest result of the weekend. Watch on EYBL.TV Cesis, meanwhile, produced the stage’s highest team score in a 70–42 win over MOBI. Watch on EYBL.TV Georgia recovered from two opening defeats to win both remaining games, and MOBI’s Kateryna Kolomiiets led the scoring averages with 20.0 points per game.
